AdjunctSuccess is the only organization dedicated solely to the professional development needs of part-time professors, and the instructional leaders who coordinate their work. Membership provides a seat in 15 topical Webinars, a biweekly e-newsletter, and access to rich sets of printable and online resources.

AdjunctSuccess is grounded in the work of Dr. Richard Lyons and Dr. Helen Burnstad.

Colleges and universities may provide access to their adjunct professors through an institutional license, whose cost is scaled to the number of members registered at the time of purchase. Individual professors may access AdjunctSuccess services through an annual subscription. AdjunctSuccess also provides Webinars for deans, department chairs, and other administrators seeking insights into leading their adjunct professors more effectively (not included in license fee).

rLyons Dr. Richard Lyons

In a career spanning 30 years, Dr. Lyons has served as an adjunct instructor, professor of management, department chair, instructional dean, and coordinator of faculty development. Completing his dissertation study on the teaching and classroom management skills of adjunct instructors, he subsequently implemented a program to address their needs that has been benchmarked by several institutions. Included in that program is a course for new adjunct instructors that Dr. Lyons has taught over 30 times, both live and online.

As the Senior Consultant with Faculty Development Associates, Dr. Lyons has presented face-to-face workshops to adjunct instructors and their instructional leaders throughout North America, and consulted with leading institutions to design programs for supporting their part-time faculty members. He has been published widely, including The Adjunct Professor's Guide to Success and Success Strategies for Adjunct Faculty for Allyn and Bacon, and Best Practices for Supporting Adjunct Faculty for leaders of part-time professors published in 2007 by Jossey-Bass
