Developing the Developer
Every two years, NCSPOD offers the Summer Institute to our membership. This institute provides participants with hands-on training in order to design or redesign your staff, faculty or program development program.
The Institute is for new and experienced staff, program, and organizational development (SPOD) professionals and college teams. It is a week-long, intensive training program; teams are encouraged to attend.
Typical topics Include:
developing technological systems
analyze college culture
an opportunity to develop a plan to align training at all levels with college goals and objectives
create positive marketing strategies
and learn methods to enhance your program evaluation strategies
During this week, teams/participants will:
develop technological communication systems;
reflect on their own college culture, climate, and impending change;develop a plan to align training at all levels of the institution with institutional goals and objectives;
identify key resources;
- incorporate positive marketing strategies;
- enhance program evaluation strategies; develop structures for year-end reports that advocate for program development.
