In order to respond to member needs and requests, as well as keep the conference fresh and innovative, we’ve built some new features or twists upon some favorites into this year’s conference schedule.
The conference will open at 1:30 pm on Wednesday and will end Friday evening to allow for optional excursions on the weekend or your travel home.
Wednesday afternoon will feature “appetizer” workshops – 3 hour interactive sessions enabling an in-depth look at some featured topics.
These workshops will be followed by a dinner in a lovely location high above the harbor with great views of Vancouver at night. A formal welcome reception will follow, as well as the ever-popular GIFTS sessions.
Conference learning tracks and session descriptors will help you better plan your conference attendance options.
“Collaboration Central” will have a new look this year. Those interested will be able to join informal special interest groups/ learning circles to correspond with conference learning tracks or attendee interests. Group time will be built into the schedule on Wednesday evening, Thursday at lunch and Friday evening.
In addition to the 3 hour intensive workshops and our normal 75 minute concurrent sessions, we will feature 1 hour roundtable discussions on topics suggested by our members.
Thursday afternoon will include an exciting dinner cruise aboard a yacht to see the sunset and great vistas around Vancouver's harbor.
As part of the requirements for our incorporation, we hold an annual meeting for our membership. We will unveil our exciting new website and provide an opportunity for you to discuss future directions of NCSPOD.
Our annual Awards Luncheon will be the same great salute to the best among us and will include an engaging speaker from the Vancouver higher education arena.
The conference will officially conclude with a dinner and the 2011 Charlotte Conference Reception.
On Saturday, you will have the opportunity to take optional excursions to Whistler, Victoria or other locations of interest.
Please check the section on Conference Session Highlights to see details of the conference concurrent sessions as they evolve.
We are working to build greater value into our annual conference for new practitioners as well as seasoned members and welcome your suggestions!
