What is included:

The conference registration fee includes all designated conference materials and meals, coffee and wellness breaks, receptions, and associated hotel food and beverage service fees.  This includes continental breakfasts on Thursday and Friday; Thursday and Friday lunches; and Wednesday and Friday evening dinner receptions.  A Thursday afternoon and evening excursion to the sites of Vancouver will be available for separate purchase at a greatly reduced cost. Pre-conference workshops will have separate fees.

Basic fee: 

The basic fee for current NCSPOD members or individuals from colleges which are current institutional members is $495. The basic fee for non-members is $595. 

Discounts available: 

You may apply one of the following discounts of $50 to your registration, if appropriate:

  • Confirmed presenter
  • Early registration (Postmarked or submitted online by September 27; deadline strictly observed)
  • Retired/ Emeritus member
  • Student member (a current valid student ID will be required at check-in)

Alternatively, 4 individuals from one institution, registering at the same time, may pay for only 3. 

One day only pass: 

You may elect to attend one day only on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday for a fee of $245. No other discounts will be available.  The Thursday pass fee does not include the educational excursion. 

Guest fees: 

A meals only package is available for guests of conference attendees for a fee of $245. No other discounts will be available for guests.  The guest  fee does not include the educational excursion. 

Pre-Conference Workshops, Wednesday, October 27:

The workshops below have additional registration fees and are not included in the general conference registration package. These fees include all materials and lunch on Wednesday. NCSPOD reserves the right to cancel any pre-conference workshop due to low enrollment. Descriptions and details about all pre-conference workshops will be included elsewhere on this website.

  • New Practitioners Workshop -- $195 (full day workshop, Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning)
  • Teaching Biases -- Making the Case for a Plurality of the Good in Teaching  -- $95 (half day workshop, Wednesday morning)
  • Thinking and Working in 4D -- It's Not How Smart You Are, It's How You Are Smart --  $95 (half day workshop, Wednesday morning)
     

Educational Excursion:

A special sunset dinner cruise is this year's excursion at the cost of $55 per participant.  See additional details of what is included at the tab on the right.      

 

Late registration fee: 

Those registrations processed on site at the conference will be assessed a late registration fee of $50. 

All conference registration fees are in U.S. dollars and payment must be made in U.S. dollars.

SPECIAL EARLY BIRD DRAWING

Those who submit a paid conference registration form by September 27, 2010 will be entered automatically in the drawing for a complementary two night stay at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel during our conference. The winner will be responsible for any additional days of lodging desired plus any incidentals connected with the stay. 

REFUND POLICY

A full refund, minus $25 processing fee, will be made if cancellation is received by September 27, 2010. A $75 cancellation fee will be retained between September 28 and October 20, 2010. No refunds can be made after October 20, 2010. Telephone/voicemail cancellations to Ellen Gergely will be accepted, but must be confirmed in writing. Substitutions in attendees may be made at any time. Because of our contract, refunds for the optional Vancouver excursion on Thursday afternoon and evening will be honored only if you cancel your entire conference registration before September 27.

HOTEL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The 2010 NCSPOD International Conference will be held at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. All conference attendees are responsible for making their own hotel and travel arrangements.

To make hotel reservations, call the Vancouver Marriott’s toll-free number:   1-800-207-4150. You must identify yourself as a participant in the NCSPOD conference in order to receive the conference hotel rate.

The standard room rate for the 2010 conference will be $189 (Canadian dollar) for single and double, $219 for triple and $249 for quad occupancy. The rate does not include applicable taxes. This group rate is available up to three days pre- and post conference, subject to availability.

MEMBERSHIP IN NCSPOD

Those wishing to become a member of NCSPOD may do so at the time of registration. Membership is not required to attend the conference. Those who join NCSPOD at the time of registration may claim the appropriate member registration rates. Currently, annual membership dues for members are as follows:

  • Individual membership*                              $100/year
  • Institutional membership*                           $350/year
  • Retired/ Emeritus membership*                 $50/year
  • Student membership*                                $25/year
